be directed by experienced Archaeologists. Children are welcome at the adjacent Dig-it-Kids fun activity camp.
Team up with professional archaeologists excavating a buried 13th century Dominican
Friary in Trim.
You will be taken into the discovery zone where you will have lots of fun whilst learning
the skills of an Archaeologist. This wonderful site is a rich store of archaeological and history.
The excavation is unearthing lost buildings and artefacts buried for over 700 years.
The excavations are directed by the Irish Archaeology Field School, a provider
of university accredited, site based archaeological research and training. The
ethos of the school is to provide an opportunity for students and enthusiasts of
archaeology and anthropology to experience at first hand the excitement of
archaeological excavation in a teaching environment.
